The Fabricon Foundation is a brand new initiative to
launch in 2008.
Fabricon aims to proactively work with local educational establishments to promote design, technology and innovation via workshops, exciting competitions and work placement opportunities. We are passionate about utilising our wealth of experience in the industry, unique insights into user-centred design methodology and state of the art prototyping facilities to inspire and energise a new generation of UK design talent.

Workshop design & technology, innovation sessions touching on the following subjects:
- User Centred Design methodology
- Techniques to involve users in the design and idea process
- User Interviews, Observation & Personas techniques
- The importance of competitor analysis
- Developing a brief from a real and human design challenge
- Prototyping Innovative ideas
- Developing a final proposal

A unique opportunity to see inside a working, state of the art industrial and manufacturing business. See exactly how an idea is transformed into a full working component from concept visualisation, production to final testing.
Foundation Design Excellence Competition
All workshop design submissions are entered into a competition to be judged by the Fabricon Management team. Awards are as follows:
1st Prize
- £1000 prize
- Framed Certificate of Excellence from The Fabricon Foundation
- 2 week work placement working with Fabricon team
- Prototyping of the product with the possibility of commercial production
4x runner up awards
- £250 prize money
- Certificate of Merit from The Fabricon Foundation
